Louise, your retreat story is hilarious and so relatable! I once tried to do a DIY wellness retreat at home, complete with yoga, journaling, and healthy food. Let's just say it didn't go quite as planned. My dog ate my yoga mat, I spilled smoothie all over my journal, and I ended up ordering pizza for dinner. π But even with all the mishaps, I still managed to find some moments of peace and clarity. I'm really intrigued by your soulful productivity approach β it sounds like a much-needed alternative to the constant pressure to do more.
This was so funny, Alex! It reminds me of that virtual Buddhist retreat I was attending... had to take care of house and family stuff so I was late, rushed downstairs to get started, spilled smoothie all over the carpet and had to clean it while the retreat leader was going on about how Zen Buddhism works differently in the West than when you are in a monastery. Y'a think?
That's hilarious! It sounds like we both have a knack for turning our retreats into comedy gold. I guess even the most well-intentioned plans can go hilariously awry. π
Maybe there's a lesson in there somewhere about embracing the chaos and finding Zen in the midst of spilled smoothies and chewed-up yoga mats? Or maybe it's just a reminder that life doesn't always follow the script, and that's okay.
You crack me up, Alex! "My dog ate my yoga mat, I spilled smoothie on my journal, and I ended up ordering pizza for dinner." π€£ Dang, man. You been reading my private journal?!l
I really like the concept of soulful productivity. It should replace the toxic one that the westren world insists on pushing down through our throats π
Finding and then moving from honest, felt motivation and intention instead of "getting with the program" has been a lifetime endeavor for me. Because like you said, what is the program that they're offering? Do they even know? Feels like a road to nowhere. I'm just now seeing your note here, but hopefully I can listen to your recording!
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that the timing doesn't work for you, Cassie! There will be a recording, though (assuming everything goes according to plan, haha!). What time zone are you located in?
Thank you so much! I so appreciate this!! Iβm in Western Australia, so AWST. Iβm 12 hours ahead of ET and 7 hours ahead of the UK, which makes lining up work hours in both quite tricky! I have to have sessions with my mentor (who is on the West Coast US) at 7am my time, and chats with my family who are all in the UK in my evening. We make it work but it isnβt always easy, haha! <3
Thank you, Louise, for that enlightening post. Iβm still very much struggling to disconnect my worth from my achievements and resting is always an issue for me but, on the positive side, taking actions, perfect or not, is never a problem. I used to be a planner, getting panic attacks when nothing went according to the plan, now Iβm just a dreamer leaving most of the big how stuff to the Universe, following one of my favorite motto: « Humans make plans and God laughs.Β Β» Lots of love.

Either way - that is a fun article idea. HA.

I'm with you, Donna. It appears my private journal has also been compromised, haha!
Ahahaha. You both are too funny. I promise, I haven't peeked!!!

Thank you so much, Juantastico. I I just put up the recording, you can find it here: https://leaderforgood.com/new-moon-meditation/
I'm registered, on my calendar and I set an alarm. How good is that, Louise?!
Wow, you are extremely organized! :)
If I fail to put on my calendar AND set an alarm, time flies by!
Gosh this sounds incredible! I wish it wasn't at 3am my time otherwise I'd be there with bells on. Hope it goes well! Xx
Hi Cassie, here's the link to the recording: https://leaderforgood.com/new-moon-meditation
Happy New Moon!

This sounds really fabulous and very much in line with the direction I've been trying to take my own planning in.
Yay! Thank you for sharing how this lands for you, Louise!
