How to stay calm in stressful times? That, my friend, is an exceedingly good and increasingly important question.
The quick answer is that you have to disassociate from what is going on externally and focus on the peace you can feel within.
There is a stillness, a quietude, like a lake glistening in sunshine, that is underlying all your experiences. This state has been called many things by many different teachers:—human, non-physical—it does not matter. It does not matter what it is called. All that matters is that you are capable of identifying that state.
So take a moment now. If you're in a place where it's safe to do so and focus on the stillness. And you will notice that stillness is vibrant. Humans often think stillness is boring, which is why you avoid it like the plague. But know, stillness can be invigorating. Stillness can say a lot.
You know, you have that phrase—pregnant silence. That describes a lot of what I'm referring to. So if you're experiencing situations that are stressful, take some time to find your center. And then once you found that inner center, then take the action that you're called to take if there is one.
This approach is an approach that comes from abundance. For can you see how stress is in some ways related to a state of scarcity? Not enough time, not enough energy, not enough this, not enough that.
But you live in an ever-expanding universe. So how could there be not enough? Even your being has been expanding since the day you incarnated into this physical body. And that was probably a lot more stress than whatever you're going through right now.
So rest assured that you are much bigger than whatever is having you feel stressed out. You are the lion here. And lions do not cower in front of tiny things. Can you feel that? Can you feel what the situation looks like if you're regarding it from this perspective? It's just a small thing, even if it's really, really big. But you’re being is so small (note: this should probably read big) that anything is tiny compared to it other than, of course, the universe and all these things.
But we mean human-made. And the situation you have is presumably a human-made challenge. So the short answer is tap into your Eternal Being and then let the light of your eternal being shine onto this very, very temporary problem.
And *poof* *poof* *poof*.
The path in front of you may clear, might have to clear.
You might forget this, and that's fine. Just remember and remind yourself time and time again. You are Eternal. This problem is not. So don't treat it like it's the other way around. Okay?
